The external three-layer polyethylene (3LPE) coating is a composite structure. It begins with a fusion-bonded epoxy powder primer for foundational corrosion protection, followed by a copolymer adhesive layer that ensures strong inter-layer bonding, and is topped with a polyethylene outer sheath. This final layer provides robust mechanical protection and long-term environmental resistance.

Internally, a liquid epoxy coating is applied via spray. This lining offers superior adhesion and exceptional chemical resistance, effectively shielding the pipe's interior from corrosive attack by the transported media, such as oil, natural gas, or water.

This comprehensive internal and external protection method is extensively employed in oil and gas transmission pipelines, as well as water supply and drainage systems. It plays a critical role in significantly prolonging pipeline service life.
